(ConservativeSense.com) – Prosecutors in Atlanta are set to announce yet another indictment of Donald Trump. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told her staff to arrange to work from home between July 31st and August 18th and instructed judges in the city to clear their diaries between August 7th and 14th.
Willis wrote in a letter to her staff, “Thank you for your consideration and assistance in keeping the Fulton County Judicial Complex safe during this time.” Prosecutors accuse the former President of attempting to commit electoral fraud. The case against Donald Trump in the Peach State has taken some bizarre twists and turns.
A report in February summarized the findings of a grand jury convened to investigate wrongdoing by Trump and his team immediately after the 2020 Presidential election. The report noted that some witnesses may have lied under oath when testifying about the events and that “no widespread fraud took place in the Georgia 2020 presidential election that could result in overturning that election.”
The case largely centers around a call Trump made to the Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, during which the former President asked Raffensperger to “find” the votes he needed to flip the result.
The matter took a strange turn when a member of the Grand Jury, Emily Kohrs, discussed her experiences with the mainstream media and hinted that Trump could be indicted. Lawyers said Kohrs’ action was “unusual” but not illegal.
Trump later petitioned to remove Fani Willis from the case. His lawyers cited the fact that she was barred from investigating Republican Burt Jones because she was involved in a fundraising campaign for his opponent. That battle is ongoing.
The notice from Willis to her staff accompanied a separate letter to law enforcement warning “the need for vigilance will increase.”
If it goes ahead, it will be the second indictment by a Democratic DA against the former President. Manhattan’s Alvin Bragg indicted Trump on 34 felony counts. His popularity subsequently grew.
