Trump Vows ’24 Election Challenge If Fraud Is Obvious

( – Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, said that “if everything’s honest” during the 2024 presidential election six months from now, he would accept the results, but vowed to challenge the results again if there’s any sign of voter fraud.

On Wednesday, May 1, Trump was interviewed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel while holding rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan during a day off from his ongoing criminal trial in New York. He told reporters he would “gladly accept the results” of the election if it’s honest, but added that he would “fight” if something seems suspicious.

The pledge sparked backlash from the former president’s critics, who blamed him for the Capitol riot in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021. Prosecutors accuse Trump of egging on the protesters by challenging the 2020 election results, which he may do again if defeated this November. Trump still maintains that he won Wisconsin during the 2020 election and said everything that has “been found out” since showed that he won in that state and “in other locations.”

Although Trump certainly won Wisconsin in 2016 when he defeated Hillary Clinton, President Joe Biden won the state by over 20,000 votes in 2020. A report released in December 2021 by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty said that investigators found no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the Badger State. However, the report did show that different electoral procedures were used by clerks across the state.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) said at least 100,000 volunteers and attorneys across the US will be assigned to monitor the electoral process to maintain election integrity in November.

Trump remains ahead of Biden in many polls, although the two seem to be neck-and-neck. In Wisconsin, which is one of seven swing states in the upcoming election, Trump holds a 1.5-point lead over the president. That tide could change, of course, especially considering the continued legal attacks against the former president, which Trump maintains are a plot to keep him out of office.
