(ConservativeSense.com) – After filing for bankruptcy, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani discovered that among the many companies and individuals he owes money to is the president’s son, Hunter Biden.
A court filing on Thursday, Dec. 21, revealed that Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after taking an immense legal bill defending himself in ongoing litigation related to the 2020 presidential election. Giuliani, who was also once former President Donald Trump’s attorney, was recently hit with a $148 million penalty in court for charges of defamation.
Two former election workers in Georgia, Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman, sued Giuliani for accusing them of helping to steal the 2020 election from Trump. The day before Giuliani filed for bankruptcy, a federal judge ruled that the former Trump attorney should already have started paying what he owed immediately. Before filing for Chapter 11, which halts all debt collections, Giuliani had already dished out $230,000 in penalties and legal fees.
One America News Network, a conservative news outlet, was also involved in the same litigation but was eventually dismissed after settling with the two polling workers.
The bankruptcy filing, processed through the Bankruptcy Court for New York’s Southern District, shows that Giuliani possesses assets worth between $1 and $10 million, which is not even close to enough to cover his legal fees. The former New York mayor owes a total of $153 million, which includes the $148 million ordered by the court. Giuliani owes 49 different creditors.
On top of that, he also owes over $1 million in state and federal taxes, another $388,000 for outstanding legal fees, and potential liabilities amounting to $3.4 from other lawsuits accusing him of failing to pay lawyers, accountants, and even phone bills.
The most notable creditor is President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who filed a civil lawsuit against the former New York mayor and Robert Costello, Giuliani’s former attorney. Hunter Biden alleges that the pair attempted to hack into his devices and invade his digital privacy, according to the first son’s legal team. The accusations stem from the notorious Hunter Biden laptop story that broke during the 2020 election, which Giuliani had a hand in.
