(ConservativeSense.com) – Former FBI officials are warning of the dangers of America’s porous southern border, saying the country has been “invaded” by military-aged men. A group of retired FBI agents wrote to the leaders of the House of Representatives and the Senate, saying that the open border is one of the most “pernicious” menaces ever to face the United States.
The letter states that the US has never before experienced a hostile ground invasion, yet one is taking place now but is largely ignored by the White House. “Military-aged men from across the globe, many from countries or regions not friendly to the United States, are landing in waves on our soil,” they wrote.
The ten officials to put their names to the controversial note include former FBI assistant directors Kevin Brock and Chris Swecker, as well as Terrorist Screening Center Director Timothy Healy and former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan.
The migration crisis reached new heights in January when Texas went into battle with the White House and won the support of several GOP Governors. The battle began when Texas refused to remove the razor wire it installed along the Rio Grande, even when ordered to by the US Supreme Court. In fact, following the Supreme Court ruling, Texas added more razor wire, and its National Guard refused to allow Customs and Border Patrol agents to take it down.
A group of 25 Governors supported Texas Governor Greg Abbott and issued a joint statement saying Texas had the right to defend its territory. The statement accused President Biden of failing to secure the border, leaving Governor Abbott with no choice but to take decisive unilateral action.
Governor Abbott argues that Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution allows individual states to protect themselves in urgent circumstances. Abbott said that the “Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.”
