(ConservativeSense.com) – Thirteen Democrats in the House of Representatives voted along with Republicans to condemn the Biden administration’s migration record. A resolution, introduced by Texan Rep. Tony Gonzales, passed through the House by 223 votes to 191, backed by Democrats including Henry Cuellar of Texas, Jared Golden from Maine, Angie Craig of Minnesota, and Nikki Budzinski of Illinois.
In a press release preceding the vote, Rep. Gonzales said Americans are tired of President Biden’s dismal border failures and “broken immigration policies.”
In detail, House Resolution 1112 condemned the Biden administration and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for creating the worst border crisis in American history and putting the US homeland in danger by facilitating the illegal entry of criminals and potential terrorists.
It said the White House had “allowed at least 6,400,000” to travel unimpeded into the heart of American towns and cities and, in doing so, ignored or violated immigration and asylum laws. It accused the administration of doing this “purposely.”
The resolution focused overwhelmingly on the danger to public safety that has resulted from an open US southern border and cited the murder of Laken Riley in Georgia as an example. Illegal immigrant José Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old from Venezuela, awaits trial for Riley’s murder. Police found the 22-year-old student’s body near the University of Georgia campus after she disappeared on her morning run in February.
The House’s approval marks the third time this year that Democrats have joined the GOP to condemn the border crisis. In January, Rep. Nathaniel Moran of Texas resolved to condemn the Biden administration’s border handling, and it passed with 225 votes to 187, supported by 14 Democrats. Similarly, in March, Rep. Monica De La Cruz, also representing Texas, introduced a resolution to condemn the President and Secretary Mayorkas.
Some estimates suggest that north of seven million immigrants have come to the US illegally since Biden entered the Oval Office. This figure is higher than the individual total population of 36 American states.
