100 Democrat Lawmakers VOTE YES – Thankfully, They’ve Been Stopped!

(ConservativeSense.com) – More than 100 Democrats on Capitol Hill have voted to allow illegal aliens to vote in the capital city. A resolution to prevent the D.C. city council from allowing immigrants to vote was passed in the House by Republicans with the help of 42 Democrats. The resolution was opposed by 162 Democratic Members of the House.

D.C. city council had voted 12-1 to allow anyone, including illegal immigrants, to vote in local elections. It would have meant voting eligibility for around 50,000 noncitizens in the capital, including those recently bussed to the city after crossing illegally through the southern border.

The resolution represents a rare pushback against a culture that increasingly erodes the value of citizenship and puts the American taxpayer under mounting pressure. Across the US, laws allow immigrants, including illegal immigrants, the right to vote and access to public funds.

In California, Governor Gavin Newsom announced in 2022 that so-called “undocumented” residents would receive state-subsidized health insurance. “This is a victory for the millions of undocumented Californians who contribute $3.7 billion in state and local taxes and over $40 billion in spending power to our economy every year,” said State Senator Maria Elena Durazo, as health coverage was expanded to cover 700,000 people living in the US unlawfully.

In New York, illegal aliens are entitled to a host of taxpayer-funded benefits. The NYC Department of Human Services boasts on its website that a person does not need to be “a citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident” to qualify for state aid. The department also promises not to report people to immigration officials if they broke the law to come to America, placing US officials at odds with each other and displaying a lack of unity and respect for federal immigration laws.

The Immigration and Nationality Act allows for the provision of more than 600,000 permanent residency visas every year and those who come to the country lawfully are expected to meet its criteria.
