Biden And “Mayor Pete” Quietly Ignored This Key Issue!

(ConservativeSense.com) – It’s been almost three weeks since the devastating train derailment, evacuation of over 5,000 residents, and the subsequent chemical burn-off in East Palestine, Ohio, and neither President Joe Biden nor Secretary of Transporation Pete Buttigieg has yet to visit ground zero.

The Mayor of East Palestine, Trent Conaway, criticized the POTUS on Monday for neglecting to visit the devastated town in Biden’s own country yet taking the time to fly overseas to visit Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instead.

Conaway called the president’s actions “the biggest slap in the face,” stating on the Fox News “Jesse Watters Primetime” show that Biden “doesn’t care about us.” Conaway pointed out the fact that on Presidents’ Day, instead of paying a visit to Ohio and giving money to those impacted by the disaster in his own country, Biden “was in Ukraine giving millions of dollars away to people over there” in another country.

So far, some federal agencies have been sent to assist in dealing with the disaster, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, but local residents and Mayor Conaway claim the on-the-ground resources have not been sufficient enough and the federal government’s response too slow.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency initially denied requests to send a team to Ohio, but after Trump announced he would visit East Palestine, they immediately reversed their decision.

Pete Buttigieg is also yet to visit East Palestine, although he stated on Tuesday that he plans on doing so soon but did not give a specific date, only saying “when the time is right.”

Buttigieg mentioned “two kinds of people” who typically show up to disaster sites, those “who were there because they have a specific job to do” and those who are “there to look good and have their picture taken,” maintaining that he is of the former group and that when he goes “it will be about action on real safety.”
