(ConservativeSense.com) – On Monday night, Tucker Carlson aired unreleased footage from Jan. 6, 2021, which paints a different picture than most of the mainstream media have been peddling for the last two years and raises some new questions.
Carlson was granted exclusive access to the 40,000 hours of unreleased surveillance footage by Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy. Never seen before by the public, the footage presents a different perspective on the events of that day than the media spin.
Perhaps the most infamous figure of Jan. 6 is Jacob Chansley, who became known as the “QAnon Shaman,” and whose picture in the House Chamber with his face painted while wearing a horned helmet quickly went viral. The footage aired on Carlson’s Fox News show did not portray an angry, violent insurrectionist, but showed Chansley being calmly escorted around the building by multiple Capitol Police officers.
Carlson said that “virtually every movement of his time inside the Capitol was caught on tape,” and that the footage shows “capitol Police never stopped [him]” but “helped him” instead, basically acting “as his tour guides.” One officer addressed the hands-off approach to those who entered the building by noting he was outnumbered and knew “there was no way we could all get physical with them” because of that so he decided to try and talk to them instead.
Another myth put to rest by the release of the footage is that of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who was initially reported to have been beaten to death by a fire extinguisher, which was later retracted. Sicknick died of a stroke the day after the events in D.C. The footage reveals that Sicknick was inside the building asking folks to leave after he supposedly suffered a fatal head injury from the fire extinguisher.
Despite these facts, Democrats such as President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continue to cite Sicknick’s death as evidence of a “deadly insurrection” that day.
Democrats are already rallying to blast Carlson for using the footage to misrepresent what happened that day, but it’s now obvious that’s exactly what they’ve been doing by withholding the footage for over two years.
