(ConservativeSense.com) – Joe Biden’s plan to release migrants into the US suffered a setback when a federal judge placed an injunction on the White House’s “parole with conditions” policy. The policy involves releasing illegal aliens into America without court dates or any method of tracking them down. Judge T. Kent Wetherell imposed a two-week restraining order on the policy, which the Biden administration described as “sabotage.”
The order came only hours before Title 42 expired. However, even after the ruling, 2,576 migrants were released into the US the following day. David BeMiller, chief of law enforcement operations for the Border Patrol, said they released the immigrants because it was too late to change course as the migrants had already been processed.
The application for the order was made by Florida, which argued that the new program was identical to the “Parole + ATD” policy that the courts had already blocked.
The Department of Homeland Security said the policy is necessary to ease crowding and chaos at the border. The now-blocked approach allows migrants to be released for “significant public benefit,” in this case, to alleviate crowding.
Thousands of people gathered at the American-Mexican border in anticipation of the end of Title 42. Border agents are significantly outnumbered, and rather than send people back, as was the case under Title 42, law enforcement officials say they are now obliged to allow people into the US.
Furthermore, the Biden administration has created a computer app that allows potential immigrants to apply for a meeting at a legal point of entry. The app calls on people with mental and physical illnesses and pregnant women to apply. In the first 24 hours, more than 62,000 people applied.
Republican Presidential front-runner, Donald Trump, has set out his plans to reverse the crisis. He said he would build a wall, expel criminal immigrants rather than jail them in the US, and require all illegal immigrants to re-apply for entry. If we don’t do it, “we don’t have a country,” he said.
