(ConservativeSense.com) – The US Border Patrol Union has taken a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris accusing her of making the migration crisis worse. On its official Twitter account, the Union posted, “If you were given a job 2 years ago with the explicit goal of reducing illegal immigration and then you sit around and do nothing while illegal immigration explodes to levels never seen before, you should be fired and replaced. Period.”
Illegal immigrant encounters at the southern border have been breaking records year after year since the start of the decade. In 2020, there were 458,000 migrant encounters at the border. In 2021, this rose to 1.7 million, and in 2022, it increased again to 2.3 million.
The Biden administration has been fiercely condemned by the nation’s Border Control officers. One recent Tweet from the union contained a photo of the President under the caption, “The problem with our border, captured in one photo.” The union was also critical when Biden visited the Texas border town of El Paso in December 2022, almost 2 years after taking office. Officials in El Paso appeared to ensure the President did not see the real problems in the city by clearing up migrant camps just prior to Biden’s arrival.
In another development, drivers in El Paso are being warned to watch for unexpected pedestrians on roads and highways. Signs have been springing up there in recent months warning motorists that migrants may cause obstruction or accidents as they try to avoid authorities.
The chaos has been reverberating around the country as states clash about who should take care of the illegal border crossers. Florida and Texas have transported buses filled with immigrants to areas governed by pro-migration advocates such as California and New York. Three buses of migrants were sent from Florida to the home of Kamala Harris on Christmas Eve.
