A Philadelphia House Now Central to Seven Missing Women

Philadelphia police linked seven missing women to a twin home on West Chew Avenue in the Olney section. Detectives said digital evidence recovered from the home shows women who appear unconscious, injured, or dead. Officials said five of the seven are believed to be dead based on images and videos from the property. Police briefings described a large, staged environment across rooms at the house. No bodies have been found at the site to date, according to investigators.

Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore said investigators recovered photos that show a 25-year-old woman unconscious with visible injuries inside the home, which Raymond “R.C.” Horsch shared with his son, Eugene. Police also reported finding additional images that appear to depict two women dead inside the residence. Detectives urged anyone who had been inside 417 West Chew Avenue, or had information about activity there, to contact the Philadelphia Police Department tip line.

What Investigators Found Inside

Police and federal agents seized computers, cameras, hard drives, and phones holding more than 1 million digital files. That trove includes over 600,000 images, 70,000 videos, and thousands of pages of notes and drawings, authorities said. Officials reported that only a fraction had been reviewed in the early phase of the case, creating a long road for forensic teams. Detectives said the material shows women posed in the house, and some appear lifeless in the recovered media.

Police said the digital cache ties to Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, who died in 2025 at age 82, and to his longtime home address on Chew Avenue. Investigators have not recovered human remains at the property despite repeated searches, sump pump checks, and yard digs, which they said continue as new leads surface.

The Father, The Son, and the Ongoing Charges

Authorities indicated they believe the older Horsch may have produced at least some of the images that now anchor the missing persons review. Eugene Horsch remains in federal custody on separate charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon and possessing false federal credentials; local prosecutors referred those matters to federal authorities earlier this year. Police have not charged Eugene with crimes connected to the missing women at this time. The homicide unit remains the public contact for tips on the women.
