RFK Jr. Officially Announces 2024 Presidential Campaign in Boston

(ConservativeSense.com) – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially announced his bid for the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election on Wednesday.

The son of 1968 presidential candidate Robert Kennedy and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, the 69-year-old made his official announcement in Boston at the Park Plaza Hotel on Wednesday. He was introduced on stage by his wife, the actress Cheryl Hines.

Coming from a family riddled with tragedy, with both his uncle and his father dying by assassination, Kennedy has had a difficult life. He also suffers from a condition called spasmodic dysphonia which affects his vocal cords and impedes his ability to speak clearly, which some believe may hinder his chances on the campaign trail.

Kennedy stated during his speech that his mission “over the next 18 months of this campaign” and throughout his presidency if he wins, “will be to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that is threatening now to impose a new kind of corporate feudalism on our country.”

So far the only other major candidate to join the race on the Democratic side is Marianne Williamson. Although he’s yet to announce, President Joe Biden has already confirmed that he plans on running for reelection.

Kennedy remains a controversial figure for his hardline stance on vaccines, which he generally opposes. He’s been continually under fire over the last few years for criticizing the new vaccines released in response to the 2020 pandemic and was even suspended from YouTube and Instagram for sharing his views about these pharmaceutical products.

Being as outspoken as he is, Kennedy also stood firmly against vaccine mandates and mask mandates which he said he believed to be not only dangerous but unconstitutional.

How much this rhetoric, which is generally frowned upon by the mainstream media establishment, will affect his chances at a Democratic nomination remains to be seen. Most Democrats tended to be in favor of vaccine and mask mandates and Kennedy may find it difficult to sway voters of that base.
