(ConservativeSense.com) – Kanye West, who goes by Ye, says he is “100 percent” going to run for president in the 2024 election, touting his new wife as a perfect fit for the first lady.
According to a source who spoke with The U.S. Sun, the 46-year-old rapper, fashion designer, and controversial social commentator is currently traveling abroad with his wife, 28-year-old Australian architect and entrepreneur Bianca Censori, but the source says he plans on campaigning afterward. West and Censori married in January in an unofficial ceremony. He also made Censori his special power of attorney and put her in charge of managing some of his finances.
The latest move by West isn’t unusual. In 2020, he ran for president and spent over $12.4 million out of his own pocket on his failed campaign. West managed to receive around 60,000 votes across the country, although polls at the time indicated his support was much higher.
Although he’s yet to officially announce a campaign, there is no formal deadline to file. Candidates only have to meet various filing requirements that are different for the election ballot in each state. The earliest deadline is for Nevada, which is October 16. West must file his candidacy before then in order to participate in the Nevada primary election.
The rapper and fashion designer stirred up a great deal of controversy over the last year, specifically for comments he made about Jewish people, paling around with right-wing pundits like Nick Fuentes and Milo Yiannopoulos, and appearing on Alex Jones’ show where he praised Adolf Hitler. Various brands have since cut affiliations with West, and many celebrity colleagues believe the rapper has become unhinged.
Despite the fact that no campaign is formally in motion, West is revamping his Yeezy clothing line and already selling “YE24” merchandise to promote a 2024 presidential run.
