(ConservativeSense.com) – The White House has strongly condemned the “violent rhetoric” of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene who said if she had organized the events of January 6th 2021, she “would have won” and the protestors would have been armed. The Georgia Representative said she was being sarcastic and would not allow the Democrats to accuse of her of things she had nothing to do with.
White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates slammed Taylor-Greene’s remarks as a slap in the face to police and stressed that leaders have a responsibility to stand up for the Constitution and rule of law.
The remarks show a complete lack of consistency from the White House.
While Trump called for peaceful protest on January 6th, a fundamental democratic right, senior Democrats appeared to advocate violent uprisings during the Black Lives Matter protests in recent years, and without similar condemnation.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif) for example called on protestors to become “more confrontational” and urged them to “stay on the street” if the jury acquitted police officer Derek Chauvin who was charged with the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020. Waters therefore urged people to indulge in street disorder if a jury came to a verdict that did not align with the beliefs of an extreme-left group actively seeking the defunding of police forces across the nation.
At a time when Black Lives Matter protestors were setting fire to American cities, and people were being killed, then Democrat candidate for Vice President Kamala Harris famously said, “Everyone beware. They’re not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after election day… They’re not gonna let up and they should not”. Here, Harris appears to explicitly endorse violent riots across the nation, and in doing so, shows disregard for the Constitution, the police, and the rule of law in the United States.
