(ConservativeSense.com) – The White House has dismissed evidence of payments from Chinese nationals to the home of then-Presidential candidate Joe Biden as a “conspiracy theory.” House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer revealed on September 26 that he obtained, by subpoena, records of two bank wires dated August 2019 and transferring funds to Hunter Biden. President Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, was the named address in the transfers.
Comer reminded Americans that Biden assured them he had never received any money from China and warned that his “family’s financial gain threatens our national security.”
The details of the wires are that on July 26, 2019, Hunter Biden received $10,000 from a man named Wang Xin. On August 2, Jonathan Li sent $250,000 to the president’s son at the president’s home address.
A statement from the White House does not directly address Mr. Comer’s findings but describes House Republicans as “extreme” and calls the evidence of payments “discredited personal attacks” and “a sad effort to distract from their chaotic inability to govern.”
Ian Sims, White House Spokesman for oversight and investigations, took to Twitter about Comer’s findings and said, “Imagine them arguing that, if someone stayed at their parents’ house during the pandemic, listed it as their permanent address for work, and got a paycheck, the parents somehow also worked for the employer.”
The tweet received several responses, including some pointing out that Hunter Biden lived in California in 2019 and that the pandemic didn’t get underway until 2020. One Twitter user posted a clip from the 2020 presidential election debates during which President Biden clearly stated, “My son has not made money” from China, adding, “The only guy that made money from China is this guy,” and pointed to President Trump.
Mr. Sims’s tweet was also corrected by the fact-checkers at Twitter, who attached a message informing readers, “According to a rejected guilty plea filed by Hunter Biden’s legal team, Hunter was living in California in 2019.”
