Trump’s Choice Of JD Vance Seems To Be a Good One

(ConservativeSense.com) – Former President Donald Trump recently announced his running mate as Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, who introduced himself to the Republican National Convention (RNC) and shared a vision that Rust Belt voters may find promising.

Trump announced Vance as his running mate on the first day of the RNC by posting on his Truth Social page. He said the Ohio senator was “best suited” for the position, and that it was a decision he came to after extensive deliberation and thought while considering other prospects with “tremendous talent.” Trump praised Vance’s military background, his law school education, and his bestselling book, “Hillbilly Elegy.”

In a Fox News interview, Vance said when the former president invited him to join his campaign, he told the senator that he believed he could help Trump govern and help him win, especially in the Midwestern states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Two days later, Vance introduced himself to the RNC on July 17 and delivered his first speech as Trump’s running mate. The vice presidential hopeful started his political career as one of Trump’s harshest critics. Throughout Trump’s first term, Vance had a change of heart and admitted he “was wrong” about the former president, who he said ended up becoming “a good president.”

During his RNC speech, Vance laid out a platform focused on the Rust Belt and Midwestern swing states, shouting out his home state of Ohio a dozen times. He also mentioned Wisconsin three times, the battleground state where the RNC took place. Vance vowed on Wednesday that he would be a vice president “who never forgets where he came from” and that he would be a voice for the people of his hometown of Middletown, Ohio, as well as “all the forgotten communities” in the Midwestern states and across “every corner” of the nation.

On Saturday, July 20, Vance and Trump are scheduled to speak together at a Grand Rapids, Michigan, rally. The event will be the first Trump rally since the attempted assassination against him in Butler County, Pennsylvania, last week.
