(ConservativeSense.com) – A former speechwriter for former President Donald Trump called President Joe Biden a “human smuggler” and “human trafficker” on Tuesday.
The former Trump aide, Stephen Miller, made the comments in response to an escalation in criminal activity of the Mexican drug cartels, specifically the recent incident of four American citizens who were kidnapped with two of them killed.
Miller was a guest alongside GOP Rep. Chip Roy of Texas on Fox News with Sean Hannity, who was recounting to his guests the increase in cartel activity of human smuggling and smuggling drugs across the U.S.-Mexico border, such as methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Hannity then recounted the incident in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, where four American citizens from South Carolina were kidnapped during a shootout, and two of them later ended up dead. The incident happened just a few minutes away from Brownsville, Texas, and was caught on video.
Roy praised GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham for floating a bill to designate the cartels as terrorist organizations, and also praised Fox News’ Peter Doocy for holding the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accountable by questioning if President Biden’s response would have been similar if the attack was instead carried out by radical Islamist groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIS.
Jean-Pierre defended Biden by saying he takes the violence by the cartels seriously, and that the FBI has been “on top of this” from the beginning.
Miller then mentioned the border crisis in general and how the stricter policies of Donald Trump, his former boss, of sending illegal immigrants back across the border to their respective countries reduced the problem. When Biden entered office, “every single policy I just mentioned,” said Miller, was “terminated” in favor “of resettling illegal immigrants by the millions” into the U.S.
He then went on to accuse Biden of being “a human smuggler” and “a human trafficker,” calling the president “the single-best financial asset” of the cartels.
