(ConservativeSense.com) – Donald Trump lashed out at the judge who ruled against him in his latest legal battle in New York and said he should resign from the bench for “criminal interference” in the 2024 presidential election. Judge Arthur Engoron of the Supreme Court 1st Judicial District in New York has ruled that the Trump Organization’s assets and the former President’s assets are not as valuable as he claims, and he has therefore committed fraud in past business dealings. He is seeking to impose a $250 million fine and has suspended the Trump Organization’s business license, meaning it cannot operate in New York.
In an interesting twist, Trump accused Judge Engoron of fraud, saying he had underestimated the value of his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, by 50 to 100 times.
Unsurprisingly, Trump is also upset with New York Attorney General Letitia James, whom he has accused of racism. On his Truth social media platform, Mr. Trump said he would go to court to fight for his reputation against a “corrupt and racist Attorney General” who campaigned on a promise to “get Trump.”
In the past, James has indeed campaigned against Trump and promised to shine a “bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings.” She began investigating his business affairs when she took office in 2019 and targeted most of her early investigations and lawsuits toward the Trump administration.
The characteristically outspoken remarks from Trump have prompted Special Counsel Jack Smith to ask the courts to silence the former president. In September, Smith asked US District Judge Tanya Chutkan, whom Trump has also condemned as biased, to impose a gag order on him over concerns of potential witness intimidation.
Smith wrote that Trump has “an established practice of issuing inflammatory public statements targeted at individuals or institutions.” Mr. Smith filed the request with the courts after former President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “If you go after me, I’m coming after you.”
