This “Hidden Cost” Is Starting To Hit America Hard!

( – Illegal immigration into the United States is costing the American taxpayer billions of dollars every year. Healthcare alone is estimated to cost around $25 billion.

A new report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform reveals growing expenses in a variety of areas including education, welfare, and law enforcement. The total cost for a year was calculated as a whopping $150 billion. The report states, “Every day, hundreds of millions of dollars in American taxpayer money are spent on costs directly associated with illegal immigration. Only a small fraction of these costs is ever recouped from taxes paid by illegal aliens, with the rest falling on the shoulders of American citizens and legal immigrants.”

The cost of education for around 5 million children among the illegal population comes to more than $6 billion, while law enforcement expenditure is above $25 billion. Despite these huge numbers, politicians continue to promise more to migrants while Americans struggle with the cost of living.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has said taxpayers in the Big Apple will now fund college degrees for people who came to the US unlawfully. Adams has unveiled plans to establish an office specifically to care for the needs of illegal immigrants. The Office of Asylum Seekers Operations will “focus on resettlement and legal services, as well as a new 24/7 arrival center for asylum seekers,” according to a press release.

The new plans include the provision of 12 months of free education, as well as room and board, at a college in Sullivan County. It will cost around $1.2 million in the first year but is predicted to grow as the number of migrants increases. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) accused the Mayor of creating a permanent welfare system for illegal immigrants and said he is incentivizing and rewarding unlawful behavior.

City Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island) added that the Biden administration expects New York to “set these people up for the rest of their lives in the US.”
