Ron DeSantis Just Called This Group A “Dead, Rotten Carcass”

(ConservativeSense.com) – In an interview with Newsweek to promote his new book, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis calls the Democratic Party a “dead, rotten carcass on the side of the road,” and said he and the Republican Party have turned Florida into a place where the “woke goes to die” by protecting Floridians from the left’s “worst pathologies.”

DeSantis talked about how people have been marginalized for having “a conservative viewpoint,” stating that every American should be able to live their life the way they want to in Florida “without having the left’s agenda” shoved down their throats. Because of their forceful approach, the Democratic Party has become irrelevant in Florida – a “dead, rotten carcass” according to the Florida governor, who also called them “totally off their rocker.”

The 44-year-old DeSantis was re-elected in November with a 15-point landslide victory, far surpassing his 2019 margins. Initially advised not to make waves during his first term, DeSantis decided to do the opposite, an approach he details in his new memoir, “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.”

In the book, he describes the 2020 pandemic policies most states adopted as “draconian” and argues why his choice to reject those policies saved “the livelihoods of millions of people through Florida” and left the Sunshine State in better condition than the rest of the nation.

The theme of the book also seems to be another hint that DeSantis will run for president in 2024, despite the fact that he still hasn’t announced an official campaign. It’s generally agreed upon that if he does choose to run, DeSantis would pose the greatest threat to Trump winning the GOP nomination, and some polls already indicate the Florida governor would defeat Trump in the primaries.

Trump seems to agree, as he continues to take shots at DeSantis in speeches and on social media.
