It’s OFFICIAL – The Video Just Dropped!

(ConservativeSense.com) – After months and months of anticipation, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis finally announced his campaign for the White House in 2024, filing the official paperwork and dropping a campaign announcement video.

The governor of the Sunshine State and his campaign team released the video on Wednesday where DeSantis stated that he was running for the White House “to lead our great American comeback.” He then mentioned key issues that he plans on tackling, such as the border, crime, and families struggling economically.

DeSantis had been teasing a presidential run since his re-election as the governor of Florida last year in November, and his latest book also hinted at the move, the thesis of which was applying the policies he put in place in his home state to the country at large to put it back on track.

Another part of DeSantis’ launch strategy was the use of Twitter by teaming up with Elon Musk for a planned Twitter spaces conversation about his campaign after dropping the campaign video. There were some technical difficulties because so many users of the social media platform were trying to tune in at once. Some criticized the move as a fumble, while others viewed it as a positive sign that the event drew so much attention.

Former President Donald Trump was the first president to use Twitter to his advantage during the 2016 election, arguably one of the major factors leading to his victory by connecting him directly with his voter base.

After the events in Washington, D.C., on Jan 6, 2021, he was banned from the platform and vowed never to use it again, launching his own social media platform called Truth Social in response.

Last November, Musk restored Trump to Twitter, but Trump still refuses to post anything there. DeSantis, on the other hand, is going to make as much use of the platform as possible as he faces off with Trump for the GOP nomination. Although other candidates, such as Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, are campaigning hard for the nomination as well, everyone agrees DeSantis is the #1 contender against Trump.
