(ConservativeSense.com) – Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced articles of impeachment on Tuesday against the Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray, accusing the FBI of being weaponized against the American people.
In the impeachment articles, Greene claims that Wray has turned the FBI into “a Federal police force” used “to intimidate, harass, and entrap” Americans who “are deemed enemies” of what she calls “the Biden regime.” She goes on to highlight examples of what she considers abuse of power by the Bureau, including the raid on former President Donald Trump’s home last August, after which she previously filed to impeach U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.
According to Greene, Wray transformed the Bureau into a “personal police force” for Biden and Garland and described their tactics “against normal Americans” as “Soviet-style” and “unprecedented” in the U.S.
Wray was nominated as FBI Director by Trump in 2017 after Trump fired James Comey from the position.
Greene’s latest call for impeachment came just after the release by Special Counsel John Durham of the final investigation report on the alleged collusion between Trump and Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. The report concluded that both the Department of Justice and the FBI had no grounds to launch an investigation. Members of the GOP describe the incident as treasonous and proof of direct tampering by the Democratic Party in the 2016 election.
Greene also introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, who she slammed during a House Oversight Committee meeting. Greene claims he failed to prosecute rioters in Washington, D.C. following the death of George Floyd while focusing solely on Jan. 6th cases.
No stranger to stirring up controversy, Greene is used to taking a tough approach in Congress and has been one of the biggest critics of the Biden administration on nearly every major issue, from the border crisis to gender ideology and abortion.
