(ConservativeSense.com) – On Tuesday evening, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy hosted a screening of the controversial movie “Sound of Freedom” for Congress members.
During a press conference on Tuesday, the House Speaker announced he would be having “another movie night” that night for Congress members to see a screening of the much-talked-about film dealing with child trafficking. He also announced that the star of the film, Jim Caviezel, and the man whose story the film is based on, Tim Ballard, would also be in attendance.
The film “Sound of Freedom” is sparking a national conversation on human trafficking, and some Democrats have tried to dismiss the film as “Q-Anon” propaganda while Republicans feel it is highlighting a problem the U.S. needs to address.
McCarthy said that hopefully, the two parties “can come together, see a movie about human trafficking,” and find some ways to stop human trafficking, which is a problem now “throughout the world.”
One of those addressing the issue as it relates to the U.S. is Health and Human Services (HHS) volunteer gone whistleblower, Tara Lee Rodas. In 2022, Rodas went to Project Veritas with her testimony of witnessing unaccompanied migrant children brought to HHS facilities being sent off to unvetted sponsors across the country, some of whom appear on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) transnational criminal organization lists, as revealed by fellow whistleblower Aaron M. Stevenson.
Rodas sounded the alarm to lawmakers as one of three witnesses who appeared before a House subcommittee hearing in April 2023, testifying to what she describes as “government-sponsored, taxpayer-funded child trafficking.”
Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted about seeing the movie, citing statistics that America is #1 “in the world” for the consumption of child pornography and trafficking children. She also noted that 85,000 migrant children who crossed the southern border have gone missing under the Biden administration.
Sound of Freedom is about an American federal agent who leaves his job to carry out a rescue operation to save children being trafficked in South America. So far, it’s made over $100 million at the box office.
