Haley Believes Trump is Too Friendly with North Korea

(ConservativeSense.com) – Former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador Nikki Haley, who’s currently running for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, accused former President Donald Trump of being too friendly with the North Korean government.

According to a report from Politico, Haley was addressing plans by Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet with Kim Jong Un, the Supreme Leader of North Korea, when she made her remarks about Trump. First, she said the partnership between the two world leaders “is another sign” that “dictators” around the world are uniting and named “China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea” as nations that “hate America” and American values. Haley stressed that these are threats to be taken seriously.

According to Haley, neither the “weakness” of President Joe Biden nor Trump’s “friendliness” toward Jung Un have changed the direction of North Korea “for the better,” and that “dictators only understand strength.”

A Trump spokesman was asked about Haley’s comments and defended Trump’s choices in dealing with North Korea when he was in office. The spokesman, Steven Cheung, said that under the “successful presidency” of Trump, “no new wars were started,” which he credited to world leaders having more respect for “the power and leadership of America” under the former president. Cheung then accused Biden and “many others” of wanting “to further bloodshed and deaths.”

Trump, who was once Haley’s boss when she was UN ambassador, is often praised by his supporters for maintaining peaceful diplomatic relations with the authoritarian nation of North Korea, while his critics cite it as another example of Trump buddying up to tyrants. A lot of Trump’s critics view his relationship with Putin the same way.

Haley, of course, is gunning for her former boss because she’s running against him for the GOP nomination next year, and Trump is still the leading candidate. Trump is far ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who’s in second place according to the polls, which means he’s leagues ahead of everyone else, including Haley. Despite her political experience, Haley is even getting beat in the poll by newcomer Vivek Ramaswamy, who’s in third place, leaving her in fourth.
