(ConservativeSense.com) – House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is demanding information on the classified documents found in Joe Biden’s possession. He told Special Counsel Robert Hur to answer questions on the papers and whether they are connected to countries that have enjoyed a business relationship with the Biden family.
In a letter to Mr. Hur, Comer said his committee had amassed evidence that President Biden has “used certain members of his family” to “accumulate millions of dollars” from foreign countries. The note explicitly mentions the president’s wayward son, Hunter Biden, as the family member in question. Comer added that if any of the classified documents held by the President relate to the relevant countries, “the Committee needs access to that information to evaluate whether our national security has been compromised.”
The Biden family allegedly raised a fortune through business deals with companies in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania.
Additionally, Comer told Hur he wants details on an interview between the Special Counsel and the President in early October. Ian Sams, a spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office, said the discussion was “voluntary,” and President Biden was quizzed about his handling of classified data during his time as President and Vice President. Sams said President Biden cooperated fully with the investigation, and the White House would keep the American public informed.
Between November 2022 and January 2023, Biden’s attorneys found around 30 classified documents at his home in Delaware and an office he previously occupied at the Penn Biden Center, part of the University of Pennsylvania, in Washington, DC. The papers are believed to contain information on countries including the UK and Iran.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur to investigate the case in January. A Trump nominee, Hur, said he would conduct the investigation with “fair, impartial, and dispassionate judgment.” He added that he intended to follow the facts wherever they lead and to do so “without fear or favor.”
