George Santos INVESTIGATION Update – This Could Impact His Career!

( – In an announcement on Thursday, the House Ethics Committee said they will launch an investigation into controversial GOP Rep. George Santos, whose consistent lies about his past and on his resume have been making headlines over the last few months.

The investigation will seek to determine if Santos “engaged in unlawful activity with respect to his 2022 congressional campaign” according to the committee’s statement, among other questionable actions by the New York congressman.

These include failure “to properly disclose required information on statements filed with the House,” violations of laws related to conflict of interest “in connection with his role in a firm providing fiduciary services,” and whether or not Santos engaged in “misconduct towards an individual seeking employment” in his office.

Santos, who refused to step down after several fellow Republicans called for his resignation and even a protest outside his office, removed himself from assignments with the committee. He said he is cooperating with the Ethics probe but refused to comment any further on the matter.

The probe will be led by GOP Rep. David Joyce from Ohio and Democrat Rep. Susan Wild from Pennsylvania, along with two other lawmakers of each party, and a subcommittee to investigate the allegations was established by a unanimous vote. According to the House Committee, the establishment of a subcommittee to investigate “does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred,” and several actions can be taken in response to the findings.

In an interview with the New York Post after the Times’ story from December that raised questions about his resume and biography, Santos said his only sins “are embellishing my resume,” for which he apologized.

Since that story came out, much more was revealed about the congressman, including questionable campaign donations and unusual allegations, such as conning a veteran out of money Santos helped raise to save the veteran’s dying dog.

Many Republicans now view Santos as a stain on the entire party and would be happy to see him gone from his position.
