The Ford Motor Company is once again at the forefront of safety concerns as it announces recalls affecting tens of thousands of vehicles due to unresolved issues from previous repairs.
Quick Takes
- The Ford recall impacts vehicles across multiple models, including popular trucks and SUVs.
- The recall primarily addresses ongoing issues with rearview cameras and control modules.
- Specific models like the Lincoln Aviator and Corsair are majorly affected, with over 49,000 units involved.
- A resolution aims to avoid repeating the high numbers of Ford recalls in prior years.
Details of the Recall
Ford has issued recall notices for 64,000 vehicles targeting the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, Explorer, Edge, Bronco Sport, Maverick, and Lincoln Aviator and Corsair models. These recalls address ongoing problems that previous repairs did not adequately fix, such as malfunctioning rearview cameras and defective control modules. The largest recall affects 49,399 Lincoln Aviators, Corsairs, and Ford Explorers produced between 2020 and 2023.
The recall list also includes 2,290 units of the 2021-2022 Ford Edge facing similar rearview camera issues. Additionally, the 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick models face body and powertrain control module malfunctions, affecting 12,833 vehicles. The Super Duty recall involves nine units with malfunctioning front passenger window systems.

Addressing Safety Concerns
This isn’t the first round of significant recalls that Ford has faced. The company previously had recalls that reached nearly 4.8 million vehicles in 2024. For these latest issues, correcting previously “incorrect repairs” was identified as crucial to addressing persistent safety risks. The recall encompasses models with problematic camera displays that affect rear visibility, which can elevate crash risks.
In addition, a recall involving trailer brake software impacts 10,626 vehicles, raising concerns of braking performance degradation. Ford aims to resolve these issues to prevent the high frequency of recalls repeating and is advising vehicle owners to receive a free software update or module recalibration at their dealerships.
Ford’s Plan To Fix Recalls
Ford plans to send notification letters to affected owners near the end of April, allowing enough time for consumers to take necessary actions. Ford customer service can be reached at 1-866-436-7332 for those who have any questions about the recalls.
