Eric Swalwell Makes VILE Claim About GOP – “With The Killers…”

( – Following the school shooting in Nashville, according to California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell, any Republican who opposes banning particular types of firearms is “siding with the killers.”

Swalwell, who is a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, made the comments on Wednesday during his appearance on MSNBC. He said that “we could protect children from what’s killing them most” if there were more Republican allies.

Swalwell then addressed Republicans directly, accusing them of “negligence” in protecting children, and saying they “can either side with the kids and protect them or we’re gonna say that you’re siding with the killers.”

Swalwell brought up various safety precautions to support his argument about firearms, like properly storing cleaning materials, prescription drugs, or buckling a child’s seatbelt, saying that “everything we do is designed to protect [children] because they’re the most precious people in our community [and] the most innocent.”

He said Congress seems to be doing everything else to keep children safe but protecting them “from the one thing that is killing them more than anything else,” which he believes is gun violence. Swalwell also said that every Republican on the committee will have to “go home this weekend and face their voters” who will ask them what they did “on the only committee that has jurisdiction on gun safety” and tell them they “sided with Donald Trump” over their voters’ kids.

Swalwell’s comments come just days after a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, shocked the country. A trans-identifying woman, Audrey Hale, shot her way into a Christian private school and murdered six people, three of whom were 9-year-old children.

Both Democrats and Republicans, as usual, have taken the tragedy as an opportunity to push their own political agendas, either in favor of gun control from Democrats or opposing transgender ideology, which many Republicans believe influenced the killer’s motives.
