Democrats at War Over Migration

( – The chaos caused by illegal migration has pitted Democrats against each other as the Democratic Governor of Colorado said he will send migrants to New York City and Chicago – both led by Democrats. Mayor of New York City Eric Adams, who has said that the city will “always” welcome migrants has now said “there is no more room at the inn” and called the migration crisis a national embarrassment.

Adams said, “We received over 30,000 asylum seekers that are in need of not only shelter, but food, education for children, health care, and some of the basic items that are needed. Now, we were notified yesterday that the Governor of Colorado has now stated that they are going to be sending migrants to places like New York City and Chicago. This is just not fair for local governments to have to take on this national obligation.”

Governor Jared Polis has not publicly provided details of whether he intends to send migrants to New York, but he did say that 70% of migrants to Colorado were passing through and that state was not their destination.

Similar chaos took place in 2022 when leaders of southern states transported border crossers to cities and states run by pro-migration Democrats. Adams has described New York as a city of immigrants but now appears to have seen the reality of mass migration and done an about-turn. Similarly, California Governor Gavin Newsom has been at the forefront of promoting high levels of immigration, often providing benefits to illegal immigrants that many Americans don’t have, said last year that the Golden State would break under the pressure.

The Republican Governors of Florida and Texas both transported migrants north in 2022, with Texas sending more than 16,000 to liberal places like New York and Washington, D.C. Hundreds were sent from Florida to the home of Kamala Harris on Christmas Eve.
