Congress NOTIFIED – Children Are Being Taken!

(ConservativeSense.com) – A Project Veritas whistleblower who sounded the alarm about government-sponsored, taxpayer-funded trafficking of unaccompanied migrant children last year testified before Congress on Wednesday.

Tara Lee Rodas was one of three witnesses who appeared before a House subcommittee on Wednesday to testify that the government is delivering migrant children into the hands of criminal exploitation.

Rodas, who blew the whistle to Project Veritas last November, detailed her experiences volunteering for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) while stationed in California, where migrant children were being received and sent off to sponsors across the country.

Speaking before the committee, Rodas said she was under the impression that she was helping to place children “in loving homes” only to discover many were “being trafficked through a sophisticated network.”

The network starts with recruiting the child, smuggling the child over the border, and concludes with HHS delivering the child to their sponsor. Rodas found that some sponsors have criminal records and appear on Transnational Organized Crime watchlists, and view these kids “as commodities and assets to be used for earning income” which is resulting in a massive increase in child labor exploitation.

Rodas concluded by urging lawmakers to “take action to end this crisis, to safeguard the lives of these vulnerable children.” Rodas told the committee that the HHS and the Office of Inspector General must implement more oversight and transparency, change the “culture of speed over safety” when processing migrant children, require sponsors to report to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, and stop retaliating against whistleblowers.

The statistics show that the amount of migrant children encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border alone has risen from over 33,000 in FY 2020 to nearly 150,000 in FY 2021 and over 152,000 in FY 2022. Over 70,000 migrant children have been encountered in FY 2023 so far, and the problem is only getting worse.
