Anti-Police Groups Receive Millions From Soros in 2021

( – Anti-police campaigners received around $35 million from the Open Society Foundation in 2021. The Foundation is owned by liberal billionaire George Soros and distributes private funding for what it calls “justice, democratic governance, and human rights”. Soros has also reportedly funded the political campaigns of extreme-left prosecutor candidates.

Much of the money has gone to groups aligned with the Black Lives Matter movement. Black Lives Matter was involved in rioting and disorder across the country in 2020 and has demanded the police be defunded as well as the removal of statues and monuments documenting American history and heritage. “We have supported reforms to our criminal justice system that enjoy broad support across the political spectrum. We believe that our freedoms are threatened when state actors are above the law, and that accountability is even more essential they are given the right to use force on behalf of the government,” Laleh Ispahani, co-director of Open Society-US told Fox News.

While the police officer found guilty of causing Floyd’s death was sent to prison, most criminal charges were dropped against BLM rioters despite having caused $2 billion of damage.

The Open Society furthermore spent $500,000 to try to prevent the hiring of new police officers in Austin, Texas. Another $200,000 went to the creation of a database of information on people who give charitable donations to police departments or police unions. It is not known how this information would be used.

George Soros is a left-wing billionaire notorious for funding projects aimed at transforming Western society. He is known for his support of open borders and is a major donor to the American Immigration Council (AIC), the National Immigration Law Center, and Immigration Equality. All three groups have been implicated in helping and facilitating illegal migration into the United States.
