2024 Candidate STUNS – Bombshell Ukraine Update!

(ConservativeSense.com) – During his first interview with Fox News following the official announcement of his 2024 presidential campaign, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis clarified his positions on the war in Ukraine.

DeSantis, who is now the main competitor against former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, was asked what he would do about the war between Russia and Ukraine on his first day as president if he wins. He responded by stating that he does not want to see American troops involved on the ground in the ongoing conflict.

The Florida governor also criticized the state of the US military, which he said has become too “politicized” by focusing on issues irrelevant to national se curity such as gender ideology and global warming. DeSantis stated that the military must be refocused on “commitment, core values, and core mission.”

DeSantis added that he wants to see the war in Ukraine reach a settlement even though he doesn’t believe the U.S. military should get involved. He doesn’t want to see “a wider war” escalate from the conflict, which some believe could result in a world war.

This isn’t exactly a new position by DeSantis. In March, he responded to a foreign policy questionnaire issued by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson about the war saying that the U.S. should not be funding or send ing weapons to Ukraine and needs to focus on more pressing matters instead, such as the border crisis, “achieving energy security and independence,” and other issues

DeSantis received some backlash for his response in March after describing the war as a “territorial dispute” between Ukraine and Russia.

Despite the fact that DeSantis’ views on the situation are not too different than Trump’s , the Russia – Ukraine war will most likely be a major topic of debate between candidates during the 2024 election season.
